Forums - Sony - NAT TYPE 3 TO NAT TYPE 2

Hello everybody, I am writing this to you in need of help for my nat type. I currently have nat type 3 and I absoloutely hate it. I have quick net speed but being an australian, getting a good connection (especially on COD4) can be really hard to achieve. My internet speed is quick enough to host but my nat type wont allow it. I cant talk to most people or join games with most people because my nat wont allow it either. I have a siemens speedstream 4100/4200 modem(/router maybe I dont know) and a linksys wireless router. I have searched and searched the internet for tips on how to change my nat. I have eabled uPnP on my router settings page , opened ports placed my ps3 on a dmz static ip adress and none of it works . I am extremely frustrated with my internet and am in desperated need of help fast. If anyone knows how to fix my problem or has any tips on the subject, PLEAAASE post a reply.

nat type 3 occurs when your router does not supports packet fragmentation, is not set up to do it, or there is interference, you can try connecting the system to the modem directly, or putting the system on the DMZ, if that does not work get a router or modem that support packet fragmentation. packet fragmentation is sometimes used to bypass firewalls thats why routers has to be set up to allow it. Packet fragmentation occurs when the packet send if greater than the MTU.
