aren't some of those ps3 games available on psn? if so why aren't some of nintendos wiiware titles listed? ..also gt5 prologue is not on the list either

Sony is losing money for a lot more reasons than software sales. Even a company selling tons of games would lose money if they sold their hardware at a loss. EA is losing money because they tried to be daring and make new IPs, but they all failed (at least for the holiday period). Sony is failing because the PS3 is expensive as all holy hell to produce and they don't even sell most of the consoles they ship.

Sony's first party is becoming quite the powerhouse. The only Blu-Ray disc title Sony published in the first half of 2008 was GT5P. Next year will be even stronger for them, with at least Killzone 2, White Knight Chronicles, and InFamous hitting in the first half of the year, with a similarly crowded holiday season to this year.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Which kind defeats the point of a reviewer.

It'd be like having someone who only like JRPGS review Killzone 2.

As for EA... how many of those were sports games again?

You dont need to "understand" the wii to adequately review it's games. Difficulty, writing, storyline, presentation, depth of gameplay and length are the essential components a game is to be judged by. This is universal, not console specific

Really all those games from Sony averaged 80% are better. Ok haha. Goes to show you that what reviewers think has nothing to do with what the customers think.
