Forums - Nintendo - Will we see an Infinity Ward COD on the wii?

Hmm,

Quatum of Solace runs on the cod4 engine
Quantum of Solace is on the Wii
Therefore the cod4 engine runs on the Wii

Although by that logic, the DS also runs the cod4 engine, so take my logic with a grain of salt

Viper, you got a better link?

Around the Network

I just checked, Activision hasn't "publicly" announced it yet but that's only because they haven't announced it for any console at all yet, just the official name so far. However they've already those they communicate with. I was speaking to my PR rep about the series last week and there was no indication the Wii was not gettign COD: MW2.

While there is no direct link there is plenty of allusions.

IW hired several developers last year with a requirement of Wii development experience.
The COD4 engine was ported to Wii which is what will power COD6.
The engine wasn't complete in time to begin work on COD4.
Do you think they'd take the time and money to port the engine for just 2 games (World at War and QoS)?
Activision has been a huge Wii supporter and all their franchises have seen a Wii release.

Scottie, COD: WaW also runs on the COD4 engine.

 WHAT?!! O_o *speechless*

The only game that makes the use of COD 4 engine on the Wii was COD WAW

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

I bet it will come to wii. The userbase just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and like other devs say they cannot ignore that. If they got the engine ready for wii, and they've got a little COD fanbase going on , then I bet they will try again. With the legs it shows it could be at 800k this time next year, which I'm thinking would be a nice profit for them.

On top of this the conduit, MH3, DQ10, hotd, and madworld could bring some more hardcore fans that still haven't invested in a new console.

I wouldnt be surprised if they stepped it up too, to make it stand out more on wii.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

Quantun of Solace also uses the COD4 engine.

PR FTW? I've played all the stages of QoS on the Wii of course, Im gonna buy this game anyway for splitscreen multiplayer experience, and thats not COD 4 engine. Sorry since you're in public relations of Activision I wont debate  you about that one since you knew better, but the first stage of COD WAWii blow all of the stages of QoS out of the water. I have a chance to play COD WAW briefly and the first stage alone was very good. Of course in Wii's standards its still gimped but definitely better than other third party games on the Wii right now...

I hope they put ti in the same level as The Conduit.
IMO The Conduit even ashames the 1st party developers at Nintendo.

BTW, even if this is selling moderately, but steadily, the next game might sell better. Guitar Hero III sold very well on the Wii (is just behind the 360 version, if still a million behind the PS2 version), but World Tour on the Wii is the top seller so far.

And if Raving Rabbids is anything to go by, sequels on the Wii can sell at least as well at their predecessors.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Quantum of Solace may use the CoD 4 engine, but was it developed by IW?

If it comes to the Wii, IW will pass development off to someone else. (More than likely)

Im thinking what software used in Quantum engine? Seem iuts different than the COD 4 engine used in COD WAWii. I think COD WAWii uses Direct X while other games especially The Conduit uses open GL
