Cheaper blu-ray players cutting into PS3 sales?

When the PS3 launched, it was the cheapest blu-ray player.

Last Christmas, you could buy a blu-ray player for around the price of a PS3.

This Christmas, you can pick up a decent blu-ray player for $199-249, significantly cheaper then a PS3.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

It's funny that last Christmas the blu-ray/HD-DVD format war wasn't over. This is the first Christmas of only blu-ray and the first year the players are significantly cheaper then a PS3.
I think MS propped up HD-DVD just long enough.

I have a PS3, but I'm really interesting to get a cheap Blu Ray Player, in my opinion a specific device for a specific function is was better than a Multi-function machine.

Its very possible. You do get what you pay for though. Those "cheap" Blu-ray players are just that. You cant do BD-Live with most, and none without buying a memory card.

Its pretty obvious all people want these days is cheap. The culture has turned to cheap now but more expensive in the long run, needing to buy add-ons or replacements.

I actually never do BD Live it just a waste of time in my opinion. I just want to watch a movie not listening some bad comments of people that I don't know.

I got the $129 Magnavox BR player from Walmart on BF. No need for BD Live stuff. Just wanted to play movies. I haven't even bought a BR disc yet, Netflix has provided me with 6 movies so far.

I'm sorry but BRlive is a big marketing commercial gimmick... with very little added features..

I have to sign up for every movie studio for each of their BD-Live accounts, and then I get spam from crap offers even when I say I don't want to be notified.

You would think with all the space on the BR Disc I would have to use BL-Live to get special features and video at low quality.

"obvious all people want these days is cheap"... ya these days.. from B.C. ... to A.D. .. all people want is cheap.

People want affordable items, not gimmicks and a new way of spam, like BR-Live.
