Lol about the rules in the OP. "PS3 is the greatest console ever and you're not allowed to say it isn't because I don't allow people to disagree with me especially when my assertion is flawed".

LOL the PS3 will never come close to touching the greatness that is the PS2 game library.

Only thing I disagree with is "2nd best library." I do think the PS2 is very close to no. 1 though. The PS3 does have an amazing library, but so do most platforms.

We can´t dicuss taste, cause that´s personal, but putting the wii library above the N64 one is blasphemy. There´s nothing on Wii even close to Oot or 007. The rest is debatable, but this is why we are here, to debate games and their numbers...

 

 

Yes taste is a matter of personal opinion. I´d rank Super Mario Galaxy way above Oot and 007.

The console with the best lineup in history is for sure SNES!

Super Metroid, Zelda- A Link to the past, Super Mario World, Street Fighter ll turbo, Super Mario Kart, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, among others.

The N64 had games that are better then the wii's best. (though it's closer then you give credit.)

However it greatly lacked mediocre games.

I play a LOT of videogames.  It's basically my only hobby.  So i need a lot of ok games to go with the great.

A top heavy lineup simply falls over when there is nothing medicore and varied to play along with it.

I respectfully have to disagree with the starter of the thread on the PS3 side! Although it has some really awesome games, yes.

But you can't really ignore the PS2, can you?... That one easily outshines the rest of the consoles when it comes down to games. But that also is an opinion on taste! Since I enjoyed my Cube more then the PS2!

Of course the Ps2 still has the greatest library of games, but the ps3 is close behinde. I expect by the end of 2009 the ps3 will have amassed the greatest library of games. All ps3 owners let's celebrate and pay tribute to the ever growing library. Good days ahead my friends.
