how did u get the demo?

It can be downloaded off of Xbox Live with a Japanese account. I dont think they released it on the American version yet though.

I played it when the demo came out. And at the time a lot of people were complaining about the buddy revive system, and even having Shiva to begin with. they said it detracted from the survival horror aspect that had made the other games so tense and enjoyable.

In a way I think they are right, but its a sacrifice for co-op play. RE4 didnt even have co-op. So 5 is definitely different than 4. You have to consider the weapon set up, quick draw, and no pause when going through inventory also. Those are dramatic changes in the game play. In fact it seems that there is no more weapon case at all. Also the healing herbs are all now physical sprays that take time to apply. Its not instantaneous. if you get hit while trying to use it you could die.

I really enjoyed the demo and was left wanting to play more after the two missions. And the trailers show so much more awsome shit. I cant wait to play through the actual game.

Yea you said everything. The new gameplay addictions just wash out the horror feeling from the game that RE4 had. At least for me. Hope that RE6 goes beyond actual RE concept but returns to the scary stuff we were used.

i played the demo on my 360 and i think its not a horror type game, but the co--op is so damn good =) i think thats the strong thing about re5 more than a re4 rip style, i think the co-op has never been done as good as on RE5

Yea I thought so but my roomates are scared about PS360 controllers except for Pro Evolution Soccer, so even If I have the game. no co-op for me :(

you could always find some random person online.  The mission co-op is fully online. That makes it more enjoyable.  Split screen kind of sucks.  You cant see enough of the action.

I don't know if it is allowed to say in here but. I downloaded the demo by torrent, burnt the ISO on a CD (yea CD), the X360 recognizes it has a "multidata disc" or something, you just have to browse the folders in the CD and search for RE demo.

I do this to a friend of mine for many time long, when demos are only released on USA, thought you clever people alredy knew about this >___>

I did not like the demo. It was not resident evil 4.5...they changed a lot of things and made it in to an action game first. It was more like gears of evil 1.37

Seriously...if you thought RE5 is a rehash of 4...what are you doing supporting nintendo? Most of the AAA game this gen for the Wii have been rehashes if RE5 is a rehash. Except the Wii games barely improved the graphics where RE5 looks astonishing in HD.

I thought co-op online was just in the 360 version X___X

the only 2 concers i ahve with theg ame after watching the new gameplay vids are:

1 AI seems a bit dumb,,, i mean the guy is like 2 metes from you but doesn't react until you shoot him.(this might be ironed out for the final built)

2 When you shoot someone animations look just like RE4.(hit response i mean,,,,kinda underwhelming for a current gen game)

other than that the game looks fantastic.I m gonna pick it up day 1.

Resident Evil is not a quickly evolving series. It took them having four basically identical entries in the series before they completely changed the game around. Why would anyone have expected a major revolution now that they have a winning formula? It took over five years of bitching the last time before the gameplay took a radical shift.

Frankly, I like that it's RE 4.5. Why? Because I like RE4. More of a good thing, at least the first time is not necessarily a bad thing.

Regarding going back from Wii controls, I just don't see the issue. Yeah they're great. However, there was a time that we were all playing RE4 on two analog sticks on our GCs and PS2s and there was never a complaint at the time. I don't see the problem of going back to that. If it can entertain you once, it can entertain you again.

Quick note: Co-op rocks! It has the best parts of Gears and Army of Two all rolled up into one.
