I’d like to post my take on some very descriptive terms oft used in this generation, perhaps more than others, to show how misguided opinion can be.

Graphics whores

You are not a “graphics whore” if you settle for 720p, or less upscaled to 720p.

You are not a “graphics whore” if you settle for the lowest texture and polygon counts available.

You are not a “graphics whore” if you settle for 30 frames per second. (included because play speed is perhaps more important than technical proficiency)

You CAN be described as a graphics whore if you spend more money than all 3 consoles combined on video hardware and display (2600x1600p monitor not 720p TV) just to appreciate how a game was made to look.

You CAN be described as a graphics whore if you spend more money than all 3 consoles combined on video hardware and display just to appreciate how good a not-so recent game can look given advancements in technology.

The Wii

“Hardcore” Gamers

You are not a hardcore gamer if you play the inferior version of a multiplatform game. If you play on Gameboy Tetris you are a hardcore GB Tetris player not a hardcore Tetris player nor a hardcore GB player.

You are not a hardcore gamer if you are not willing to spend time and money in the pursuit of a different and/or better gaming experience.

The Wii

Yes, you can be a hardcore gamer if you own a Wii. In fact I’d say the mummies, grannies and toddlers playing the Wii are more hardcore gamer than those who sit and stare at a screen instead of standing and actually PLAYING Wii Sports. Hardcorer gamers.

Yes, the Wii often offers the superior version of a multi platform game.

Yes, the Wii offers a different and better gaming experience.

No, owning a Wii does not make you a GRAPHICS WHORE.

Conclusion

If you really want to see how good a multiplatform game can look, you need to buy a PC and 2-4 x HD 4870X2 graphics cards. You are now a graphics whore.

If you want to look at pretty pictures, whatever. If you want to play counter-strike at 5000FPS then the hardcore gamer understands.

If you really want to see how a game should play, you need to buy a Wii and see how far gaming has evolved this generation. With control inputs that matches and bests all others on the market, Nintendo has made games that perfecting is as difficult as playing a musical instrument.

I dont care if im a graphics whore or not, I juust want to play the game, bad graphics or not, if the game is good even if it was SNES visuals, it will still be good.

Please give some examples. I know there can't be too many as the 360 and Ps3 have many more A, B, and C rated games than the Wii.

I'm not trying to start a Wii v HD war or a console v PC war. Im trying to point out the ridiculous notion that consoles offer the best graphical experience whilst highlighting why the Wii is a hardcore system and perhaps the most hardcore console available.
