Well... I found them perfect. It is the game that got me into first person games. I was actually scared to play some sort of FPS before I tried Prime. I was so skeptical about the controls until I tried them!!! Well maybe I'm one of the few that feel really gd about the controls.

Sorry for jumping at your comment Sqrl. Still friends? :P

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

I think it would be fine, later on. They wouldn't have to do total Wii controls. I think the hard core would be happier if you left the first two the same and added Classic Controller support.

If they are already going to be modifying controls there is no reason they can't add classic and gamecube control support to MP3 as well as adding Mote-Chuk and Classic support to MP 1 & 2. Then everyone is happy!

No, no, no.  That would be coolAWESOME but it won't happen.  I was saying that on only the first two games.  1&2 could be GCN controller or Classic Controller.  MP3 would still me Wii-mote+nunchuck only.  If a box set happens (which it probably won't) it would be at best this scenario.

It would cost too much for anything more.  Boxed Sets and Limited Editions aren't about making people happy, they are about them squeezing every last penny out of the hardcore fan over and over (i.e. me).

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Haha, seconded. I'd be easy prey for a boxed set.

Lol, its all good.  Just shows how different certain tastes can be.  I'm a pretty opinionated guy as you may of noticed, so I wouldn't have many friends if I decided to hate everyone who ever disagreed with me.

Although, I will say once you try MP3 you should reconsider your position.  Not saying you should change your mind, just give it another thought is all.  From the gameplay videos I have seen and reviews I have read, I think there is a good chance you will like the new controls just as much if not more.

Nintendo actually has a precedent for revamping old games and adding/modifying content.  Ocarina of time had a "Master Quest" version for the gamecube that came with the new revamped version and the old N64 version.  So I don't think it would be completely far gone to think they might put a lot of work into redoing some stuff, especially if the game sells well.

That's only happened twice Sqrl, Master Quest and Mario All-Stars.  They also love re-releasing the same game as is over and over again.  Pokemon, Classic NES GBA series, and VC are examples of the other. (Cough... Mario Party... Cough)

Boxed Sets, never done by Nintendo as far as I know.   Limited Editions, also only one comes to mind... Master Quest packin.

Hmm, while that would be awesome I don't see that happening.

Besides I own 1 and 2 and love both of them (2 more then 1 and have beat both more then once)

I have never played a Prime so this would be a great idea for people like me.

I think I am sure that I will like the new controls more because I, like you, read [too much] previews etc on MP3 and even though I haven't tried it yet I have full confidence in Retro to deliver spectacular controls.

On the other hand I will always say that Prime's controls scheme was the best for first person games with the GC controller.

I agree with this statement, but I would take it one step further.  I think the game itself was designed to perfectly fit the control scheme.  You could put Wii Remote controls in the game, and aside from a little extra immersion, I don't think it would help the game much.  You'd have to make major changes to the enemies and what not to make them interesting and challenging, and that's a lot more work than I'd want Retro to do -- I want to see their next game!

Personally, though, if I ran a game store franchise like Gamestop, I'd be in contact with Nintendo begging them to republish Metroid Prime 1&2, and I'd make huge posters and stick them in all my stores advertising my Metroid Wii Combo Pack, including a Wii, a Gamecube controller and memory card, and all three Metroid Prime games (or all that without the Wii for those who already have one).
