Forums - Gaming - Famitsu White Knight Chronicle score (29/40)

Whoa...

Problem is 29/40 in famitsu terms = terrible. A score of 32-35 ... I could expect, and would actually be a 38 in reality.

Ouch - wonder if it will impact sales?

@ Shams - it could affect sales if players were only buying this game for the online mode.

They gave Nintendogs a 40/40, they aren't 100% reliable...

Oh yeah I remember that. I wonder what happened with that game?

Damn......

When Dark cloud, the first game on the PS2 by Level-5, was released it got disappointing reviews in Japan, but was much more well-received in other countries. I'm hoping that this game will follow the same trend.

The other reviews of this game were in the 80s range

So 72% When it gets to the states the reviews will be even lower Man I was hoping this one was good.

It will still sell a few PS3 I think RPG's are to Japan as FPS's are to America.

Shocked.

Famitsu isn't exactly the authority on reviews (of course, this is going to bite metacritics in the ass) but I still have to wonder what would cause them to give it a 29.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

the problem with this game is Famitsu usually gives higher score than the game deserve, a lower score should scare us.

Believe it or not Max king of the Wild not everyone think every single game on a sony console is amazing. you say this stuff in every single thread. All i'm saying is i won't be surprised if this game doesn't deliver considering past trends of sony exsclusives. as i said the only 2 MUST have games for the system right now are LBP and MGS4 IMO

What the fuck are you smoking?

i'm not smoking anything and i'm not saying your a fanboy or anything but i do see you in forumns alot defending sony games and all i'm saying is everyone has their own opinion. calling out fernando and me for having a perspective doesn't mean we are overexagerating. we are simply stating those are dissapointing scores from Famitsu

thats the problem with you. You are looking at the scores and not the words. I bet if Level cut out anytype of online it would scorehigher based on the SP itself.

True you make a good point. Maybe i am looking at the overall score too much. I personally was just a little shocked to see something that low for what looked like an incredible RPG to me. Especially considering how highly they scored TLR

Thats why I hate scores. I think all reviews should be text based. I mean think about it. If Warhawk had a mediocre SP campiagn I bet the game would get very low scores even though it does excellent on the multiplayer aspect and that was the goal from the begining. Even though there would be more content it would score lower even though it would be the same exact multiplayer... why is that?

The main reason behind a review is to inform potential customers about a game. Your job is to present a clear, concise viewpoint before a person drops $50-$60 on a game. You can hate them, you can belittle them, but most of them are spot on and have saved tons of folks wasting mad loot on flops like 'Hot Wheels: Beat That!', 'Haze' and 'Shadowrun.'

Nobody that didn't want the game, bought the bundle. Pretty much all games that sell well are advertised, too. It's not as if it received Halo-level advertisement.

Also, wrong on the Pokemon part. From wiki: "All the regions' versions contain all the breeds and are all identical, except that four breeds are not available in the Japanese versions. The difference between versions is the selection of the six (or five in the Japanese versions) breeds which the player starts with, but the other breeds can be unlocked as the player progresses through the game. Unlocking occurs when the player achieves certain goals, for example gaining a certain number of trainer points or finding a particular object."
