Probably would've scored much higher if the word Square-Enix was on the box.

Thats why I hate scores. I think all reviews should be text based. I mean think about it. If Warhawk had a mediocre SP campiagn I bet the game would get very low scores even though it does excellent on the multiplayer aspect and that was the goal from the begining. Even though there would be more content it would score lower even though it would be the same exact multiplayer... why is that? |
yeah a purly text based system would be much better especially for times like this where a reader sees the final score and jumps to conclusions without reading the ENTIRE text. it can cause some bigtime confusion. if the only real complaint here really is just online issues then thats fine with me a solid single player is what i really wanted out of the game
They probably have their reasons to give this game average scores aside from network flaws. It's only one review, but most RPGs this generation haven't been received too well by critics at all and for the most part I haven't received most RPGs this generation all too well either, so I may end up passing on this.
I more or less expect most every RPG to suck this gen now, so anything good will be a welcome surprise. [i'mhopingstarocean4isgood]

Wow, well color me shocked. I won't say I'm disappointed because famitsu and I have had differing opinions about games so I'll wait for more reviews (RPGFan anyone?) and until I get my hands on it. If the only complaint is the online, then that's fine by me, I wasn't looking forward to it anyways (check the WKC online thread).

true true there haven't been any truly great rpg's really this gen yet from what i've played. though i had a good time with Lost Odyssey and TLR. and believe it or not IU was even kinda fun in a quirky way. though far from great
EDIT: I mean JRPG's. Both Mass Effect and Fable II were amazing

Have faith friend. DQ 9 is slated for release already. Not sure if you like the DQ games or not, but I always find them enjoyable. This one should redeem Square Enix after all the recent crap theyve been putting out.

lol, pretty much. If you like/want the game it shouldn't matter whats said about it. If you're on the fence bad reviews will give you pause.
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

I doubt that. They also gave SE's The Last Remnant a mediocre score.
We should really be waiting for some western review / impression or at least until some user get hands on before blasting this.
Comeon guys, this is the same FUMITSU that gave HAZE a 35/40 :/
That being said I'm very surprised at the negative review, I'd expected a lot higher.
