Forums - General - So I finally Entered the HD Era

The vizio reps are here in my building. I think they are currently the best bang for the buck in the LCD space. I don't have the money to spare but would buy a 42 or 47" Vizio LCD in a heartbeat...  Take a moment to see one in action.  Tune it to your liking in terms of color, sharpness, etc. and compare it to other sets.  You'll find they have a very good picture compared to the other budget sets like olivia, westinghouse, etc.  If you saw a Vizio with a "bad" picture it was more than likely the setup or the source.  The Vizio reps had a demo day here in the building and had their entire line set up including a couple that aren't out yet and all of them had HD sources playing.  Of course each of them had been tuned with a "tuning source" and looked quite nice indeed.  If you have to have the absolute best picture available, don't get one.  You aren't a bang/buck shopper then.

I hate trolls.

Welcome to the club! I'll soon have a 1080p tv. Right now the best tv I have is 720p LCD tv. Can't wait for the new TV! 720p isn't good enough for the PS3. If your gonna buy component cables for the Wii then I suggest you buy the Nyko component cables like I did. They are better than all others cause the things on the screen have less edges while any other cable makes it look really edgey.

Bet with OriGin: Within 1 year Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be ahead of Mario Kart Wii (when aligning the one whole year from each region). 2 week ban from Vgchartz for the loser. Edit: Darn! Looks like OriGin will win.

Before I even opened this thread, I knew Dolla was going to do that.

That's what I'm here for.

Keep us updated on your 360, Ck. If you have a digicam, when you get the system back, take a picture of the mesh underside to see if they fit you with a new heatsink.

Will do, just explain to me when I get it back what exactly I'm looking for :)

This is it right ??? Looks sweet, verg good price too, since my PC monitor is only a little smaller and I sit right infront of it I´ll be waiting with a HDTV for a while, but if I´d be getting one now it would be one like this. Good luck with this, (at least more than with your other one) :)

The way to remember composite/component is by the meanings of the words. Composite means put together, and the cable is called that because it puts all of the video signal together over one cable. Component sends the, well, components of the signal (two chrominance signals, and one luminance signal) over separate cables, giving a better quality picture.

 even simpler, add a H, composite = composhite :)

@ckmlb

Congrats. I've heard that you can't spot the difference between 720 and 1080 on screens smaller than 40"... Is it true? I use this argument too feel better because my TV doesn't support 1080

I've just received free copy of Casino Royale and I'm in love with HD movies. The difference is huge. I was talking about Blu Ray with Vizunary and he highly recommends 300 (he already bought it). I'm going to buy The Patriot soon...
