Forums - Microsoft - Is it just Me or has There been a Decline in the Quality of XBOX Live?

I wonder if these issues are isolated by regions? In the midwest (Indiana, so actually more Central US), neither myself nor any of my friends on Live (which are mostly from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky) have experienced these Netflix issues or slowness. I experienced slowness and occasional 20 second freezes during the first week after the NXE was released, but after that I have not had any issues.

I've got 1.5mbit/1.5mbit shdsl.

I'm from Norway.

Dash of Destruction is coming to XBLA free this week. Bomberman LIVE is getting a heavy discount...And that's just the past 2 days.

If anything, MS is trying to ensure that XBL is even usable during Christmas, because the past 2 have been bad because MS hasn't upgraded servers a whole lot...Maybe they know that a Fable 2 demo would swamp the Christmas servers?

XBL quality is fine. A bad week on XBL is the best week on PSN or WiiWare , so why worry?

That was out of order Mrstickball hating on a console you don't own lol. The psn network has much more stable servers we all know what happened last christmans and prince of persia is on the psn store, so it seems Xbox live is playing catch up to the Psn network. And did I mention Psn is free!

@mrstickball

just go read the front page on vgchartz that should convince you that you're an idiot. They have articles on new releases in PSN and XBL. Microsoft servers suck anyways, they are slower and easily disconnected, that's why I don't pay for Live and only play on PSN. Plus the fact that you don't pay Microsoft for services like that.

You're gonna get banned buddy, what gave you the bright idea to call a moderator an idiot eh?

I think he wants to see if some mods like to abuse their power.

Maybe it could be a bottle neck somewhere, there might be a possiblity that M$ routs different parts of the country through differen servers.

That would be my guess. Although, if the servers for the west coast are having issues, you'd think they would be working harder to improve it. Or it could just be your Xbox for some reason. I know my first Xbox was really odd where every now and then my NAT would be Strict for no reason, or I would not be able to connect to LIVE.. Then I would just run the "Test Xbox Live Connection" and it would fix everything. Random, right?

I'll give it a try, but I'm not sure if that will fix it. I have been connected to LIVE when I had the Netflix problems. But I will still give it a try tonight.

That could be why.  Small region with a slow internet connection.

@Wiibox3
I didn't mean to suggest that as a fix for your problem, just giving an example of a random isolated issue a 360 can have.  Oh and you have to be connected to XBL to use Netflix, but I'm sure you know that.

It is just that Sony actually tests the stuff they release unlike M$.
