meh. Games are rated for a reason.
It's up to the parents to stop the kids playing offensive games, not the studios.
Just my opinion.

I never EVER got this point of view that people have on sex here, then again I am european. Giving little Timmy a sword and have him hack his way through dozens of enemies in a blood spattered orgy of gore? No problem! Here's the controller! Now, if we show poor little Timmy something he is already doing to his girlfriend (or will in few short years)? UNTHINKABLE!!!!! What kind of messed up mindset is that?

I would like to see more games about social interaction. How about detective games where you have the fighter and the seducer. How about games going up the corporate ladder(play as either male or female). Seriously we can have a whole lot of games with social depth. Attack the intern with "extra paper work", John attempts seduce his boss Tony(avoiding stero typing).

This actually stems from the point that the original game makers werent social people. They were sexually frustrated nerds who were angry at their jock peers. Many of them were D&D players, minitures... so they developed games to their taste. 20 years later those jock and cool groups now play nerd games.

Secondly North America still holds on to much of it's heavy religios christian background. As Robin Williams puts it "A group so stuck up that the English didn't even want them".

Not all games are targed towards kids and families, just like not all films are targed towards kids and families (porn anyone?). If a game isn't suitible for kids then its rated as such and if parents want to allow their kids to play said games then its their choice. I've played many games with sex elements, I don't particularly partake in them, but if the developer wants to then why not? Sex is an extremely important part of humanity, why not explore it?

 

 

With movies the battle over sex scenes was fought a long time ago. There were many people against nudity and what sex but the public had their way. they wanted to see sex. It just took some time. Now its amazing what directors can get away with in a R rated film.

With video games the battle just started recently. I think the first game I ever saw nudity in on a home console was the Getaway with the strip club scene. After that it was the original GoW. These games only came out within the last 6 years. There are several groups that oppose this kind of thing so it is hard to get more of it out there. But I imagine in 10 years no one will care anymore.

It just shows you how backwards America is. Here you can put as much violence in a video game as you want, and they sell like crazy! Make a dating sim and it flops. Just look at Japan, sex is everywhere and look how happy they are lol. Something as natural as sex should not be frowned upon.

I blame you, conservative America, for the lack of dating sims.

this post pretty much sums up the stupidity of censoring sex in games. i just hope that in the future, censorship is completely removed once and for all.
