Forums - PC - 32 days since Stargate World devs have been paid

http://www.days-since-cheyenne-mountain-employees-have-been-paid.com/

This site was put up under the radar by a dev at MGM's startup company Cheyenne Mt. Ent.  They are developing Stargate Worlds, an MMO I would very much like as I am an SG1 and SGA nut.  This is bad news and no consolation to me.  Thoughts?

Ummm....ok. Is there some article about this? That counter doesn't really do much for me, and doesn't give me any insight into what is going on there. Personally, I would have quit a week past the time I was due a paycheck.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

And this is why game developers should unionize.

Seriously, why would anyone work without getting paid? Sure, I can see maybe one week after if they are promised their pay is coming but 32 days? Really?

They all need to get together and just be like, "We'll continue our work after we're paid".

no, i think he is saying they have been payed, yet there is no game out.

I am also a SG nut, but I am not interested in the game.

It's 41 days now, the game isn't out, and the developers have not been getting paid. Cheyenne Mountain is having cash flow problems. That's not unusual for a start-up, and the developers should have known that when they signed on.

If the game doesn't get released, they'll never get paid, so all this rot about stopping until the pay checks begin again is naive. They knew the risk when they signed up--and if they didn't, this is their first lesson in how the real world works.

why does every stargate game get cancelled, its not fair
