First of all I'll say that I'll buy the 3 games' discs. I just want someone to tell me which has the superior hardware, will I do fine with the first Rock Band's set? Is Rock Band 2's very superior or is Guitar Hero:WT's set the one to get?

I've got both the Rock Band 1 and 2 equipment and the winner is clearly RB2, especially the drum kit. I also have the GHWT game but not the equipment. I prefer the RB stuff to the GH stuff, so I didn't buy any of GH equipment

Usually, wired guitars are better, but the Rock Band Stratocaster feels "cheap" compared to the Guitar Hero guitars. If you want a good guitar, get the Xplorer one. It's the best and will still be the best guitar controller ever.

For the drum, let me just say I had the Rock Band drum for about 5 months before the pedal finally broke. I looked how they made the thing, and it was just a spring holding the whole thing! I don't know if the World Tour drums have any metal under the pedal, but I sure hope it's more resistant than the Rock Band ones (because I'm getting them this Christmas). I didn't try the Rock Band 2 drum though, but I doubt it's that different. Besides, if I had to choose between two cymbals +3 pads vs. 4 pads, I'd take the more realistic one.

You obviously need a micro... Hmmm... Overall, I'd say go with World Tour's instruments. The slider in the guitar alone is used for some gameplay mechanics in World Tour. The Rock Band guitars have close buttons near the strum bar, but you just use them on "big rock endings" anyway (that's at the end of many songs).

Depends on the system. RB 2 has a cool feature - you can use any RB tracks you have - and import music into RB 2.

I too have all 3 games - and all 3 sets of mics, drums and guitars. I have GHWT on my PS3 - lol, Activision said the 360 was backordered and the PS3 version was available and could be shipped to me sooner, so I opted for that version so I could sell the wired RB1 equipment because the wireless does work with RB1 as well.

They are essentially the same. You need to look at tracks to consider which game to buy. Personally, I like have a huge library and RB keeps signing acts but mum is the word on GH signing more folks.

The Stratocaster isn't "that" bad, it's just the button noise is so annoying when you're doing fingering in songs (it distracts you). I don't know if they've fixed that sound issue with the RB2 Stratocaster though.
