Closer to $5000, then again you didn't mention the optical drive(s), case, psu, etc. (which I included when speccing the system on newegg, but you may have gotten different stuff).
As for the memory there's ddr3 1866 available already: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220248

Wow. Even if I had the money, I don't know if I'd spend that much on a computer - because of how fast the value of the thing depreciates.
..but I guess if you have the money, and if you want to be really cutting edge....
If you have dual 8800GTX's, you should get a WQXGA monitor, if you don't already have one, to play Crysis, etc. on.

About that $7000 computer...
Assuming the benchmarks here: http://it-review.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1483&Itemid=91
HD2900XT Crossfire is very similar in performance to 8800GTX SLI but at a much lower price. ($998 vs $778)
Q6700 (exactly like QX6700 if you're not overclocking) $554
2x HD2900XT $778
4GB DDR2-800 $171
EVGA nForce 680i SLI (Socket 775-LGA and Quad-core) $160
Vista Ultimate OEM $190
Water cooling - for what? You're not overclocking anything that hard (Graphics cards can't be pushed that much anyway) so top be honest stock coolers will be fine.
1x 750GB 7200rpm HDD $200
1x 300GB 10000rpm HDD - Well I can't find one but say $150
750W PSU - hard to choose but say $160
DVD-RW / CD-RW Drive - $20 even?
Case: Um... get a cheap one? $30 max? It gives no advantage
Total: $2413. Even with water cooling, a retail OS, better case/optical drive/psu/hdds it's not going to exceed $3500.
Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.
If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

Yeah, really. I really hope it can take advantage of my quad core.
Yeah, I finally have a sig.

@Game_boy: Look up the black pearl, I'm pretty sure he's OCing. Also I assume it's 2x150GB 10000rpm HDs in Raid 0 which go for ~190 a piece. And you shaved off ~1k on the processor. I'd also assume it was built a few months back (late May) when everything was a bit more expensive.
@fnl164: Do you have a second rig or are ya planning on chaning the mobo already? I'm fairly certain it won't take ddr3. Edit: Wow, you got an AMAZING deal on the mobo if it was only 200.
