Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy XIV To Follow Dragon Quest's Lead?

I wouldn't be surprised if the FF series stayed with Sony and Microsoft while the Dragonquest series stays with Nintendo.

It's all about the userbase and those JRPG's are expensive.

-edit-

And I don't give a crap about the spinoff's, they'll go to every imaginable platform.

@Khuutra & sc94597- By "Nintendo-Friendly" and "The XIII Series" i mean dragon quests "art-style" is what you'd expect to see on a Wii, while a XIII title (Which is strong on graphics both Regular XIII and Versus) and its overall Art style meshs real with the HD consoles.

Not saying its impossible, anything can happen when Square Enix is behind but its unlickly in my personal opinion.

And Khuu which dragon quest game sold more on a PS console?

So you're seriously saying that they CAN make a XIII game on PSP graphically, but NOT on Wii?

Just asking.

Dragon Quest VII and VIII were the two that sold hideous amounts on the PS2, unless I am mistaken. VII is the best-selling Dragon Quest of all time - unless I remember wrong.

The Wii is perfectly capable of carrying an art style. The only question is whether it would be as technically true to form - it wouldn't be, but there is nothing more "Wii friendly" about Dragon Quest than Final Fantasy.

Twesterm: Erm, ah, these aren't WRPGs.

FFXIV for the WiiHD, 720, and PS4 developed using Crystal Tools.

The first true Multi-plat FF game.

@Benga, lol hey man. :P PSP? uhmm what?

how does square know if they are going to make money on ps3 when they havent even released a single game for it yet?

@Seraphic How do you explain Agito going to PSP then? Also do you think Square-Enix cares that the graphics aren't up to date? As long as they make money they don't.

Agito is one of the (planned) 6 games in the FF13 series. And is on PSP.
