I think that people are starting to see the PS3 as just another expensive blueray player plus some added features. Almost all of the PS3 top sellers are on the xbox360 so why bother buying a ps3 other then for blueray

More people will buy it with a price cut, but I do not think it will be big enough to surpass the xbox360 numbers

The PS3 was outselling the 360 up until the 360's price-cut so logic would dictate that a significant price-cut for the PS3 would likely reverse the current sales trend.

A price cut will definitely put a halt to 360 dominating sales against the ps3. The price cut needs to happen in Europe first and then in NA.

You do kknow that the PS3 has more then the BluRay Drive that makes it exspensive right? The PS3 has a built in WIFI so you dont have to shell out 100 bucks for it if you need it. I believe the WIFI also corresponds with PSP functionality with the system. THe system has controllers that are rechargable standard, which differs from MS's battery operated controllers unless you BUY rechargables for it which cost another 50 bones. The system also utilizes the cell technology which is most likely more costly then the BD drive is compared to the 360's typical PC cpu. Don't forget the time and money it takes to make this quality hardware  so we dont get issues such as RROD. Besides all that, yes, it has BluRay drive, which plays BD movies and BD games.Oh, and that bigger hardrive you were just talking about as well.

So no, it does not deserve the rediculous backlash statements that simply dont know what they are talking about. like...

Yea, they will hop on that. Why the hell would they do that if the GAMES are on BluRay discs as well? There is some strong retardation in the world that has been sitting in a puddle of ignorance for way too long.

If Sony drops the PS3's price and it starts to outsell the 360, Microsoft will simply drop the 360's price even further.

It depends on the cut, I can't see Sony making any more than a $50 price cut next year given their financial performance company wide.
Even with a PS3 $100 price cut to both SKUs in March, I would expect the PS3 to perhaps stay equal with the 360 marginally during the slower months of the year, until the 360 launches the 360 Slim/Lite before the holiday and it will still win 2009 overall by about 1-2 million consoles.

Not sure where your getting your rechargeable batteries at bud but your getting hammered if your paying $50 for them.

As for the cell, who gives a crap since it hasnt exactly blown us away with it yet. It's like slapping a Ferrari engine inside a Hyundai car and never being able to utilize it. Of course people said the same thing about the legendary Emotion Engine on the PS2 and that turned out to be pretty awesome right? I'm sure the Cell will do the same in the end.

Everything you named is nice but as of right now and the past 2 years that the system has been out it seems like overkill.
