Oh man, your right! that movie rocked! I cant believe I forgot about it! :( but jack black.... hes so cool... I can't resist... if it wasnt for jackblack I wouldnt buy the movie, I rarely buy movies, only if I know im going to watch them a million times! I rented out gladiator and watched it soooooooooooooooooooo many times! and then finaly baught it really cheap and watched it once :D but it was worth it! and lord of the rings, and transformers, but apart from that I just rent :) and use my entertainment cash on GAMES! big expensive games hahahaha

DVDs are sooo cheap now! like alot of them are half price, but I've moved onto HD :( so sad, so I'm not interested in normal DVDs any more so I miss out. BRING ON THE TOP GEAR BLUE RAYS! where are they! all thoes sexc cars in HD! such a treat! some one should get onto the BBC about it.

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

Buying DVD's is a waste of money. They are so damn easy to pirate!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

So Blu-Rays are currently selling 3 to 6% instead of 1 to 2% of total DVD sales. DVD sales are still heavily outselling Blu-Rays and it is unlikely Blu-Rays will take off in the future.

Actually the article stated while they sold 6% on Black Friday last year, they sold for 25% this year.

Actually, it's about 10% software sales now.  When the Format War ended it was 4-5%.  Like it or not, Blu-ray is growing quite well and Dark Knight is expected to do over 1m first week.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

thats good it confirms the fact that the new batman sales are about 25-30 percent made of blu ray sales

This is not that big of news. Any unbiased consumer could have told you a year ago that Blu-ray is the future. The only people that ever ever doubted it were Sony haters. Blu-ray is backed by the whole buisness world, and everyone knows it. I have never talked to anyone that was not interested in Blu-ray. Only the price and timing have been a factor to this point.

It is amazing that some are still trying to down play the performace. With players down to $200 dollars now the market is starting to become more open to the idea. As more and more people spread the word and the prices continue to fall the success will only grow. I think this holiday will put enough knowledge in the market to help overcome the biggest fear of Blu-ray. Everyone should know that their DVD collection is safe, and it will look even better on a Blu-ray player.

It is not going to be long now. Next year at this time Blu-ray will be over 30% of the market, and it will overtake DVD within 2 years (if not sooner).
