PSUNews: "So much for the speculation that Blu-ray is going to be a dead format and will never truly take-off, right? According to Digital Entertainment Group, Blu-ray players rank at #1 for the most wanted electronic for this holiday season. Add on to this the fact that Blu-ray player sales were up 300% this Thanksgiving holiday and you have what is unarguably an incredible increase in sales.

"This recent survey data combined with these sales numbers illustrates that, given the economy, people will be spending more time entertaining themselves at home by watching movies – and the delivery system they want is Blu-ray," said Amy Jo Smith, Executive Director, DEG. "These stats are particularly encouraging because, even with the consumer anxiety out there right now, Blu-ray is poised for a strong holiday sales season."

These same reports also reveal the top 5 Blu-ray titles on everyone's wish list are:

- The Dark Knight
- Mamma Mia! The Movie
- Wall-E
- The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
- Hancock

Therefore, if you're still wondering what to buy that special someone this holiday season, I think it just became a bit more obvious"

Well thats it, Blu-Ray is officially the next disk-based format for Movies and Games (PS3/PS4) See theres still some positive news out there about sony, take that haters! :P

It's a lie. They are making it up. Obviously Blu-Ray could never succeed, ever. This news is just fabricated.

So they are basing this partly off some consumer surveys. Where is the sales data to support this?

That second pic looks like a fighter character select. Good job sony. I heard 4 people (bears) at work talking about buying blu ray players before christmas and how they had the HDtvs and like 8 BR movies already.
One guy was like "OMG when you see the detail you will just die" I was like "totally".
