I'd like to see what they do and how they expand on these two concepts. If it's not a blatant ripoff then that's cool with me.
Personally there is always a battle. One as alot of people here did, you get mad to see a big company ripping off other peoples ideas, BUT at the same time when an idea gets big and the audience adopts the concept, I find that I and the audience get annoyed when they don't ripoff the idea, but by then they no longer call it ripping off they call it, an 'industry standard'. For example if Nintendo anounced full blown online service for the Gamecube right after X-box Live came out, everyone would have said they ripped off Microsoft, yet since they hardly ever bothered with online everyone got mad they didn't conform to the standard.
So the bottom line is Sony is watching their competitors and staying competitive. So I only hope they expand this concept further, maybe they'll push Microsoft to do more with their achievement concept, and push Nintendo to do more with the Miis(perhaps add an expanded Mii channel or more variations, maybe shirt logos, maybe have the Miis answer questions build a personality of sorts and apply it to game play.) Either way if you like these ideas the bottom line is they can only get better if more companies push them, Sony included.
