Currently playing Final Fantasy X on the PS2... Liking it so far, there was a part that was boring as hell and the battle system/enemies are annoying me... Specially since they're overpowered. Keeping expectactions in a mild level.
I've been on a bit of a rpg spree lately. I've finished tales of the abyss on 3ds, baldurs gate dark alliance on gamecube and fire emblem awakening all for the first time over the last couple months. Now Im about 17 hours into baten kaitos on gamecube and I'm absolutely loving it, probably my favorite rpg battle system ever.
Currently playing Persona 4 Golden in order to prep for Persona 5. Just got a PSTV so I'll probably be purchasing Tales of Hearts R as well.

I support your Baten Kaitos comment, maybe not my personal favorite battle system, but pretty original! Like it a lot!
I was also playing through that game earlier this year, made it about 30 or so hours into it, but my memory card got corrupteded and I had to delete the file... Haven't played it ever since. But I'll come back to it sooner or later.
currently with Brave! Going for the end now, but the 2nd half and all the quests... It`s driving me crazy! After that, may jump to pokemon : D
Dance my pretties!

baten kaitos : eternal wings and the lost ocean, was a great rpg. I loved the whole game, the 2nd game that came out in the series is actually a prequel to the 1st game, but in my opinion the 2nd game lost alot of the things that made the 1st game so good ( battle system and characters for me ).

Would anyone be willing to buy a version of : Final Fantasy 14 a realm reborn for the xbox one if it does come out?
I think since square-enix said they wanted to make a version of it on the xbox one platform and now since microsoft is allowing cross-play with windows, its a real possibility of happening and if it does i will move my playing over to the system.

New Topic of the week is :
What is your primary reason for buying a rpg now? And has it changed at all over the past few years?
For me the reason is and will always be the story 1st and formost, i like the gameplay and graphics , and atmosphere to be all well put together, but if the story cant interest me then i wont have any reason to get into the game.

First and foremost, would I buy FF XIV for XBone? No, I have no interest in the game.
As for why I buy RPGs, I get them for their depth. A lot of games (at least pre wii/xbox360/PS3 time frame) didn't have very much customization. Changing weapons, armor, skills, magic, ect was pretty uncommon in most games, and even those that did have those things it was very limited.
Also as far as depth is concerned, the stories and adventures have always lasted the longest (as far as completion times). I get tired of buying a game and being done with it the same day (a real problem in one of my other loved genres: fighting). I like games that will scratch my gaming itch for a few weeks, not a few hours. That even holds true today.
