For me it has to be Dragon Quest IX followed by Golden Sun DD and then FFXIII

At first I was gonna buy both as well, but since they're bound to make a "complete" version in the future, i'll wait for that one, if it includes both exclusive areas from Black and White.

Just bought Dragon Age Origins for PS3. I guess now I'll really be able to voice an experienced opinion on which of the great RPGs of 2009 truly deserves to be called the best (Demon's Souls vs Dragon Age). Dragon Age has a high mountain to climb, but I'm expecting to enjoy it, even though it would play better on PC. But I'd have to fork out a lot of money to be able to play it on PC, so I'll go with the $50(NZD) it's costing me to play it on PS3.

Mass Effect for January too. I'll probably borrow FFXIII of my nephew this year too. It's gonna be a RPG year for me. inFamous and Uncharted 3 will have to wait for 2012 I think.

I can't figure out which RPG I preferred out of Final Fantasy 13 or Star Ocean last hope international edition. I really enjoyed the play throughs on both. FF13 story was better but I preferred star oceans battle system and setting (I'm into galaxy's and the whole universe thing) So it's probably a tie between them 2.

My top 3 RPGs for 2010 are...

1) Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

2) Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey

3) Nier

... though if I had a PSP, Ys VII and/or Oath in Felghana probably would've made the list.

@binary solo, thats cool. for me too, between two worlds 2,dragon age 2,mass effect 2 ( ps3 ), trine 2 ( psn ), final fantasy 14 :online ( ps3 ), venetica ( ps3 ), elder scrolls 5 :skyrim . i got a ton of rpg's to play this year and i am a very happy person.  :)

I didn't play it on the PC, is it really as bad as the reviews say?

I think Alpha Protocol was best of 2010 - sure the technical side sucked really badly but I love the dialogue options they put there.

@maxxpower, not as bad but wasnt that good either, it was rushed to market for the pc. if square-enix fixes 50% of the issues with the pc version for the ps3 version, then i will glady give it another try for sure. :)
