@darthdevidem01, yes i think it has a great chance. for a couple of reasons, mistwalker has put out 2 good to great jrpg's since it was formed. blue dragon - good , lost odyseey - great, just awesome. also with nintendo's marketing muscle and the way it treats games it really wants, should help it sell i say over a million at least. i would say with a new color system game/bundle , the game could even sell more than a million. i know i will buy it on day 1 for sure. also want xenoblade as well. my wii is getting a ton of love right now with monster hunter tri. we should play a game together online sometime again, u know.

@Robo ,yes LO was a success and a top game in it's own right, but when you look back with out MS's giant effort to make inroads into the Japanese market, we might not have seen its like and that would be sad,it was also helped to some extent by being the first big highly rated rpg running on HD graphics and to me has not had any real competition till FF 13 and that's a whole different beast plus P3 had nothing much at the time,so it is sad to come from the last gen to this one as a rpg fan who likes them on console, my main hope for the future is a handheld that can produce reasonable quality video output to today's TVs,and has dual analog sticks.

@mjk45, the handheld that could produce that quality. would be nice, but i hate to see its price tag though. i would love to see niche jrpg's be released on the playstation store,xbl or wiiware. to keep costs down and then if the title is a good success, then try and release a retail version of the series.

@darthdevidem01, I believe that the Last Story has the potential to be a great success this generation. Mistwalker has steadily been building up their fanbase on home consoles with their previous two releases. When Nintendo tries their marketing is just as good or better than Microsofts. The Wii install base is a lot larger than the 360's.

If it makes you feel better the day it releases is the day I am going to buy a Wii so that's at least one sale.

@Robo like i said it only has to output reasonable video not 1080p or even 720p,as to DL delivery i agree ,but it has its upsides and downsides,upside as you stated delivery cost, I might be wrong but a lot of the upside of DL seems to benefit the publisher and platform holder rather than the content creator, because a lot of savings like shipping packaging in store advertising is usually handled by the publisher,the game developers should see benefits from less second hand games sold, a larger cut 'hopefully ' from no retail mark up but how much is debatable.
The third thing is storage and DL bandwidth costs of the consumer will this all end up being cheaper (A) for the developer especially compared to say DS,PSP ,Wii for jrpg's (B) reach critical mass in the % of Gamers using this method,keeping in mind we are talking about getting lots more console jrpgs into the mix.

@mjk45, i know u are right. i was just thinking of new ways we could get more jrpg's or rpg's in general u know. their is never enough of this genre for me. :)

i was wondering if we might hear anything from namco about a new hd tales game at e3 or will we hear that maybe at tokyo game show instead? what do u guys think ?

does anyone know if sega still has a sequel in the works for "skies of arcadia" ? i know i read i think late 2008, maybe early 2009 that they had something in the works. i think it was a rumor and that it was suppose to be only on the wii as well, has anyone heard anything at all ?
