Forums - Nintendo - USB keyboards now usable on the Wii?

perhaps keyboard and wii is the FPS control scheme of the future to try and reel those pc gamers in to replace their keyboard and mouse.

"With the DS, it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen, but I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that." - Phil Harrison, Sony

Update - the keyboard DOES work.

The problem is that the "wireless" is terrible - the keyboard needs to be on level, and within 20cm of the transmitter to work at all (and this is with fresh batteries).

Be returning this one, and will try to pick up a Bluetooth wireless kb instead  (need this to work non-line of sight, and over a few m - just like the Wiimotes).
