Came across some interesting news while i was browsing the web tonight for Microsoft GeoW fans.

Gears of War 3 rumored to be released in Q4 2010 and feature 5 player co-op.

Work on Gears of War 3 is already well underway at developer Epic Games, claims a rumour in the latest issue of US mag EGM.

According to the mag the third game, which is surely inevitable after the titanic sales of the first two, will be with us for Christmas 2010. What's more, it'll feature a new "five player co-op experience", which we assume means co-op in the main campaign.

It all sounds like a big fan wishlist at this point, but EGM also claims that Epic has a multiplatform horror game in development, a rumour that's already done the rounds once or twice before and could be likely.

Either way, it's looking like the next few years could be busy for old Epic. It's got to do something with all of that Unreal Engine money, after all...

Its still a rumor.

I just realized, how are you gonna get 5 peeps? I mean, only 4 will be able to do coop on 1 console, and imagine if they did a split screen for them all.... The idea seems great, but I think the implementation will be very meh.

Sounds about right, they released the first game in 2006 and the second in 2008.

Can someone confirm if the deal between Epic and Microsoft about publishing the games is only for the first two iterations??

Though I think it is unlikely, what are the odds that GeOW 3 could go multiplatform??
