Even though 2009 is already shaping up to be an impressive year as far as the Wii goes, gamers might be able to look forward to more than originally expected.

Hidden within a recent IGN article is a brief mention of Konami and EA. It is explained that both companies have IPs for the Wii that fans will be ecstatic about when they are announced. “Wii owners can look forward to some exciting announcements from third-parties like Electronic Arts, Konami and Ubisoft. We know of at least two major EA and Konami IPs that Wii fans are going to flip over when they become official…”

 

can anyone guess what these IP are? hopfully the EA one isnt spore cos we already new about that

What major IP's do Konami have? I can only think of MGS, PES and Zone of the Enders...

About damn time. I don't even own a Wii and I find it ridiculous that third parties are still talking about even ANNOUNCING games. Oh wait, that's what they are still doing.

At least Square is giving some love.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Hmm wonder what they could be. They say based off current IPs as they don't make it sound like they are new ones. I'm sure one of the Konami ones is Elebits 2, which is great. But we know that one already so it's doubtful those are the ones they are talking about.

I'm actually kind of curious.

EA: Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet? Ultima??

Hm...probably not. Any of these would be quite a sensation to old school PC gamers, though.
