For those of you who haven't read it, Edge 179 has a very interseting article on Wario GBA. They Speculate about what might have happened if it had flopped and how it's success may have contributed to Nintendo's conviction to go ahead with the Wii. If Wario GBAs success did have in influence on Nintendos design for the Wii then I think it may have to go down as one of the most infuencial games ever.
No not influential in regards to the Wii, the DS was a test bed for the Wii theory(if it flopped nintendo said, they would have been in deep shit), but nintendo have filed a patent for a tilt sensitive handheld, so it definintly influenced that. =D

Wario GBA came out before the DS so it may have had a major infuence on it aswell. I think Wario shows the turnign point in Nintendo's strategy from hardore to casual. Since this strategy seems to be working I think this is why it has to be comsidered as the most infuential game ever.
I know tis may be blasphemous but I think Wario may now be more inportant than Mario in this repsect.
Well wario tilted (which is the one i assumed you were talking about) came out recently in the UK. Like this time last year.

I think you mean Wario Twisted, which came out in Japna on 2004. The first Wario game was WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgames (for the GBA) which came out in 2003, which is the game I am refering to.

Thats my point. If the first Wario had failed would Nintendo have pursued the casual gaming market so aggressively. I don't think they would have.

But if the first Wario game, which was Nintendo's first foray onto casual gaming, had failed then we might never have seen the Ds or Wii. This is why I think itis very infuential, as both the DS and Wii are going to change video games forever.
There first foray into casual gaming was the cube. The big A button was there 2 make games simpler for casuals.
