The Wii's lineup this holiday season looks a great deal stronger than the PS3's especially considering the install base. The PS3 will gain ground in early 2008 with its AAA lineup but won't sell hardware as well as the Wii until at least the middle of next year. I do not believe it will catch up to the Wii, but if it does somehow manage that (and honestly, the Wii's momentum seems to suggest it won't happen) there is no way it will have better sales than Wii/360 combined.

guys i need some 360 help
ok my choices are that i get anything below my budget

the budget is £230

i can get a pre owned 360 with HDD and cables etc with 1 game or a new Core 360 with a game and mem pack

with the core system i would buy the HDD in the run up to xmas

so what should i do guys

Never. As 360 gets weaker PS3 gets stronger, xmas through all of 08 PS3 will gain Wii will lose. Even with its price advantage Wii will start to fall apart in 08, it can't compete with the PS3 line up. 360 is a bit of a wild card, they have some good games but they are lacking the numbers of them.

Like I said this console war is going to be close...there isn't going to be a blow out in the sales department...all consoles IMO is going to have a good % of market share...

WAIT, at gamestation a lil while back, you get a 360 premium with 4 games(gears,crackdown, smackdown 07, PGR, Xbla arcade, an extra controller(nt sure wireless or wired) and the xbox live vision camera for £305. JUST SAVE UP. SERIOUSLY. This was in late April though. But they might still have some because it had been up for months, i first saw it in feb and it was still around months later, so just hunt around or wait till jan/feb08 cos they'll probably have a similar deal for it then .

KBG29, no. Just no.

There are so many things wrong with that. For one, Sony has nothing this holiday season. Microsoft has Halo 3(and other games) and Nintendo has Brawl, Galaxy, and Wii Fit. The PS3 will probobly not outsell the 360 or Wii any time during Q4. It's preforming just like the 360, but has nothing to really help it break out.

And with the Wii ~6million consoles ahead of the PS3 (and growing) and is the best selling console ever (ioi's words, not mine) It's doubtful anyone will surpass it, let alone the PS3.

The 360 is going to be in 3rd place, theres no way to look around that fact. The PS3 will pass the 360 by im thinking summer-fall 2008.

  those are nintendo franchises, and their biggest ones so of course they will.
