I have a VNC server set up on my PC, and I wanted to connect from my PS3 using the java VNC interface. However, whenever I type in the IP and port in the PS3's web browser, it sends me to a blank page instead of loading the Java application and asking me for my password.

So I was wondering, has anyone successfully done this?

Also, if this really doesn't work, does anyone have any experience with Linux on PS3 cause I have a few questions.

1. Can you dual boot the PS3 into its normal OS, and some linux distro?
2. if you can't dual boot, can you start up games from a linux os?
3. does anyone know of a VNC client that will work on the ps3 running linux?

1) From what've seen on youtube yes, You can dualboot the PS3 OS and Linux. Before you install linux it asks of you want:

10% for PS3 and 90% for Other OS
90% for PS3 and 10% for other OS
100% other OS

Or some options along those lines. I'm not sure of this but I remember SONY stating that after installing linux it would appear as an Icon on the XMB, not sure about that though.

2) Errrr.... Number 1 and I'm not sure about starting up games on Linux. Probably but I'm not sure.

3) No idea what VNC is....

hey, at least I got some information. I tried googling, but I didn't find anything usefull (with my limited search).

VNC is a tool that allows you to remotely view and control another PC. So the VNC client would control the VNC host computer. If I could get this up and running, I would then be able to completely control my PC from my PS3.
