Forums - Sony - Why does Sony advertise the big ass TVs and the PS3 separately?

I dunno, it seems really stupid to me that they don't take advantage of the opportunity to bundle the two together. What else takes advantage of full HD more than the PS3? In TV stores, I think it would be best to put a PS3 there, run GT5, have some dude play it over and over again, and have the employees say "blah blah, the TV and PS3 bring out the best out of each other", or have a shiny new blu-ray movie playing on it.

Instead, I see TV stores running a loop of some random background shots or old movies. Meh, I wonder. A lot of people still don't understand the advantages of HD, and it seems that the TV makers aren't showing the average joe the most basic differences.

and what would you say takes control of the HD experience? a HD Bravia TV or a PS3?

it doesn't matter which one. it's just better to sell them together, because they bring out the best in each other.

They do advertize them together over here though >_>

I honestly don't know. I think about that every time I see a SONY HDTV or Blu Ray add: Where is the PS3 love?

Thwy run their divisions as separate enterprises. In this case, that's a bad thing. They really should use one to sell the other.

They should present a much more unified position across their HW and Content, certain of their press releases, etc. seem to indicate they know this.

Yet they don't...

I can only presume that as a company they change direction much like an oil tanker - very slowly.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

they do. ever seen Big Daddy. big daddy is made by sony pictures, ever notice that the kid is playing a playstation and twisted metal?. its in movie advertisement for the playstation.

yeh they should, but i think sony doesn't want to advertise a product that costs $400, which makes perfect sense cause that price tag can easily scare away consumers. when it drops to $300, you should see more advertisements of ps3 with sony products

its a waste of the HD thing, that people aren't able to see the truth with just boring old images.

Because Sonys advertising has gone tits up lately...thats why

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
