I'm with Feylic ;/ they better not aim so low. In my personal opinion Halo was a generic/sloppy shooter. It seems as though they have much higher standards for they're FPS. And I'd personally prefer it that way o.O;

In terms of quality, MANY games are "halo killers". In terms of sales, no FPS will ever pass it :P

Perhaps in terms of superior single player campaigns. However KZ2 would be very fortunate to be an equal multiplayer experience to Halo 3, despite coming out more than a year later.

See but personally, I found Halo 3's multiplay to be garbage o.O; I think the guns are boring, the shields are obnoxious, and the overall pace is just morbidly terrible, how is it the chief can jump like 100 feet in the air, but can't move more than .4 miles an hour?I think the vehicles are just terrible and the game just feels like it's got no soul.

The multi-player just isn't fun. I'd much rather play tribes :/ which was like 10 years old. It's beyond me how Unreal Tourney can come out on the 360, and yet so few people picked it up :( It just saddens me.

I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion.

As for the game's pace, it is quite deliberate. I've always felt the characters movement speed was basically "relative", as a Spartan's reflexes would make things  seem slow in comparision. Especially since you can move anywhere from 25-50% as fast as the various vehicles.

No. I've never once said this about ANY game. I know better. Halo is a well established franchise that sells 8+ million. I would be surprised to see Killzone to 4+ to be honest. That being said, I'm sure that many people including myself will find it to be a better game. But like was said, this game has more in common with COD4 then Halo3, but I never say a game is a anythingkiller. I think it's mostly Xbots who use that term so that when K2 comes out they can but it on sony fans. For instance I see xbox fanboys say things like "All of you sony fans say K2 is a Halokiller and I don't see it" but I never see sony fans really say this. But it seems like it because the xbots say it so much so that they can use it against sony fans when the day comes. But, that's video games.

O god tribes, now that was a multiplayer game of maximum awesome.

Yeah, I get the whole relative thing, I just don't think I need to move slower than most games with regular human characters :(

The vehicles are too slow at that point ><

Not to hype up another game, because I'm not really here for that, but warhawk. You start on one end of the map, and start running, you'll end up on the other side in a good 7-10 minutes o.O; the maps are enormous. But you hop in a warhawk, and hit your turbos, you can get there in less than 30 seconds. It feels so fast, you feel like your in control of something seriously awesome :P Halo just feels so "mellowed down" for all ages :/ I mean I understand why it is, it's one of the contributing reason's it's so popular. It needs to be playable, and fun, for all ages and groups. But to me, that's what makes it so boring. There's nothing to really pick up on, nothing to really master. Aside from regular FPS stuff :x Head shot's with snipers, etc etc etc. It's entirely too generic for my tastes, and I would personally HATE if Killzone aspired for that.

Well, only Halo's standard settings can, by any stretch of the imagination, be called generic. Don't like the settings? You can make a new game setting and up the move speed. Via the forge you can change the game to be far more versatile than most any FPS out there.

there will never be a halo killer...simple as that.

Because Halo is already dead........................

I kid!

But really, the term "halo killer" is outdated by this generation of FPS games; It should be renamed as Gears or CoD4 killer. And to answer your question, no I dont think Killzone 2 will "kill" Halo 3. Mainly because I dont think it will run smoothly, and the online will have lag issues, but thats just my guess.

 I can see where you are coming from regarding Halo in terms of pacing etc etc. If you play the MLG formats it plays at a  much faster pace. If I could compare it to something I'd say it feels more like a paintball arena and you are playing speedball. On these formats movement speed is increased and and the damage is ramped up and it feels closer to an unreal-style gameplay than without the formats.

OT: Regarding Killzone 2 as the "Halokiller" I haven't really seen a lot of people use that term lately. And I agree that it has more in common with COD 4. However, regardless of what people compare it to I severely doubt it is going to see the same reseults as KZ 1 and it will be an 85% on Meta at the least. My 2 cents.

@Jaerel I get what your saying about forge, but it doesn't change the premise of a generic game, just it's movement and pace o.O;

Take these games for example, I'll explain to you what really sets them apart, and what makes then no where near as popular.

Resistance/Resistance 2. The "click" to that game, is that each and every weapon has an alternate fire, but this effectively means for this game, is that your standard run and gun stuff has limited effect. There is a gun, where if you "tag" someone with it's secondary, all the shots fired after with it's primary hone in and hit that target. Even if your around cover @_@;;; Don't get tagged... They have a gun that shoots through walls, so camping has limited effect, a gun that shoots blades that bounce off walls :P The "generic" strategy has almost no effect, if you stay in one place for too long, your going to die. Snipers often get raped in this game. The games learning curve is in it's weaponry, if you can't get a hold of how to use them/ how to protect against them, your going to die. And quite painfully :)

Unreal Tournament, first off, it's a mature game :x So that wards off some purchases right off the bat. Secondly, it's regular pace, is far to fast for many to play. It's the definition of twitch shooter. Kills are easy, and getting killed is even easier. It requires extremely fast reflexes on your part to make it far in that game as far as rankings are concerned. Not much of a strategy game at all. The vehicles in 3 are pretty much just there for some of the game types, no real "need" for them. But the secondary fires, and the fact that every and I mean EVERY weapon is absolutely lethal in one way or another makes the game SUPER hard sometimes :P You will die ALOT. But being on top, turning, fire, kill, turn, fire, kill. If you can get to the point where you feel godlike, you are on top of the world :P Still a bit "generic" for my taste, but skill REALLY matters here. Kills are too easy.

Warhawk. This game was centered around vehicles, not just added :P Every game mode makes vehicles necesarry, and the vehicles in this game follow a VERY set predatory circle. Tanks will take out jeeps, Warhawks will take out tanks, people with rockets will take out warhawks, jeeps will get past people :P It's SO strategic. This game isn't your standard run and gun at all. It's very centralized around strategy as opposed to frag fests. The real skill comes from your ability to know the field, as opposed to bam head shot heheheheh...

Halo as a shooter, is VERY generic in what defines it as a game. You can pick and mix SOME strategy with what weapons you pick, but for the most part they're very "get the enemy in your sights, and shoot". Hell, even grenades are more fun when you line of sight someone :P The vehicles are definitely not focused on, and the overall playing mechanics are VERY easy to pick up on. If your good at any other FPS, chances are your great at halo. Stuff like the shield mechanics only add to that survivability of getting to play it longer without dying as frequently. It's far more accessible for the casual player to have a good time with it. And while it's a good thing for sales and overall ratings, it bores many people who are used to games with more oomph to them. Myself being one of them.

Overall with the features they included with the game, it's plenty of fun with friends. I just could never get into it otherwise :/ If it didn't have 4 player split screen I'd probably never even have opted to play it otherwise.

Kilzone 2 is not a Halokiller, the problem lies with Sony fanboys that are so depressed by the sales of their console that they are trying to hail every new upcoming PS3 game (that has some extent of Hype behind it) as one of the biggest games that world has even seen.

We've seen some individuals claiming that LBP is a Mario Killer, That R2 is the best shooter ever, That Haze will be awesome, and that wii has no Games. And Killzone is just another "Wait until" title that PS3 fanboys are going on about it. It wont match Halo saleswise, it wont much it in terms of popularity and i really really doubt that it will match Halo or CoD in terms of quality (first Killzone is average).

I dont know how people expect K2 to become such a hit, when even huge franchises do not sell that much on PS3, i hope it's a damn good game but why hype it up so early and compare to such big name.
