Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 Japan Commercial

I want a Santa hat for my 360.

Haha, $215 is pretty good really over there.

I do find it a funny choice of music... Joy to the World, a Christmas song about Jesus' birth, playing in a very non-Christian country. That is a classic move.

Despite that, Tovya, Japanese still celebrate Christmas.

So it still makes sense :)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Yeah, but I thought theirs was even more secular than ours?  Also, is "Joy to the World" a big Christmas hit over there?

They do play all the Christmas songs (living in Japan) and even the Christian ones, but I don't think they take it to heart.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

Ah, I gotcha.

I do think it's a pretty cool commercial... they should make that a global ad for sure.

nice to portray a set of games, and it comes across as all-rpg's (even though I recognize Masterchief and Prince of Persia).

Music is a bit off imho. It instantly reminded me of the GoW-awesome "mad world"-song, but this didn't fit.
