really? I thought the PS3 was the industry's financial scapegoat? "sales of our games were low due to lower than expected sales of the PS3"...
basically what this guy is saying is third parties are putting crap on the Wii and he is blaming Nintendo for their bad sales? Or the publishers are blaming Nintendo for their bad sales? And he says Pokemon battle revolution is selling well yet Resident Evil 4 is selling poorly? And Excite Truck is a bad game?
Yeah, look. I don't know what the hell this guy is saying. He has a few good points, but it appears to be buried in a sea of refuse
Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!
Wow that was one of the most biased articles I have read in a while. He completely neglected to mention any of the good games coming out ...
Sorry folks, but the sky is not falling...not quite yet anyways.
PS - All of the consoles have their crappy games, and they always have, and probably always will. Also, I liked how low market penetration for crappy games = Wii owners are too casual rather than Wii Owners = Not blind.
So because Nintendo isn't nearly as harsh on their licensing terms as they were in the NES days, they are responsible for some publishers making terrible cash ins?
This statement can be said of any of the last few leading consoles - there is a whole lot of junk and not a whole lot good. Its the nature of the industry - or possibly discounting about 5 years where there was a virtual monopoly.
This argument is old and tired, let it die.

Yes every one has alot of crap games, but Wii has way more then the others.
Sales of mediocre games like MP8 disproves any "wii owners = not blind" theory.
Well, it's not that bad, but they do have a (rather temporary and fragile) point. I own a Wii and all I've bought is Zelda TP because i'm waiting for Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm never interested in third-party or sub-AAA first-party games. Maybe i'm part of the problem.
Anyway, it's not Nintendo that'll have the problem - their profits from the console and big first-party games alone are fine. It's the third-parties; maybe they'll learn to make better games.

Who's the scapegoat?
I love the kind of lose-lose argument these guys use. Scenario 1 - Wii gamers buy crappy ports and mini games = They are all non-gamers/casual they would not recognize a good game. Scenario 2 - Wii gamers do not buy crappy games and go with high quality (most of the time) Nintendo games = They are so casual that they bough the Wii just for Wii sports. 25-30% of Wii onwers buying Zelda is just a stupid detail.
The truth is simple, Wii ruined their fanboy fantasies. Wii is more of a party crasher console than a party console for them. They are always making Nintendo look bad even when there is no logic into their claims. If the Wii is cheap, Nintendo is screwing us with dated technology. If it sells more than twins porn, Nintendo is creating an artificial demand. If 3rd parties make crappy games, Nintendo is at fault for allowing games to be developed for the Wii (yes they should not let them make games at all). If Nintendo make games for my girlfriend, mom and grandpa they just abandoned me. I wonder where all those "hardcore gamers", that feel threatened by its success, were in the GameCube days. So when they focus on hardcore games they are the kiddy system, when they try to expand the market they are destroying the game business.

Just to say, Excite Truck is a great game, and I would like to see someone with S rank in every mode. That is hardcore.
To be hardcore is to try to beat a game as much as you can and be the best, and the more focused on gameplay the game is, the more hardcore you are, as it is you the one creating the experience.
Excite Truck is really tricky, and Pac-Man and Tetris might be the most hardcore games ever.
That's why for example, I consider The Darkness as casual. The only thing tha tyou do is walk, talk to some guys and sometimes shoot the dumbest enemies on earth, not really HARD to master.
Try to finish Super Monkey ball, that is hardcore.
I don't know why people categorize "mature settings" as hardcore games.
