I need a good antivirus that does not drain my comps resources (i.e. no Norton).

Just install hitman pro. I tried so many and hitman pro was the only one so far that really helped. Just let the program run every month atleast once and it will be enough.

avg (you can set it to slow scan which pretty much puts it at a lower priority and doesn't steal resources from the other things you are using, as far as i can tell)

I use AVG, and it doesn't slow things down like McAffe and Defender Pro used to so I use that.

AVG Free. A buddy of mine fixes computers on the side and he tells me that he puts AVG Free on people's computers and it finds things that Norton doesn't find.

AVG , my I have a pc and a laptop and both are old
avg doesn't slow them down and works just fine (i use the free version) :)

I'm getting AVG once my Norton subscription ends.
