Forums - Nintendo - Klonoa: Door To Phantomile (wii) Trailer

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43307.html

I found a trailer for this 3D Action Platformer today (the trailer was posted a few days back, sorry if it's already been posted). The game is developed by Namco and is actually a remake of the original  Playstation 1 game. I've never heard of the game before, but it seemed popular on GT where the trailer was posted.

According to information I found on Wiki the game is getting a July 2009 release in Europe, and there was no date listed for NA at the time. It was released on the other day on December 4th in Japan.

Anyway, I didn't know about the game really until this trailer brought it to my attention. I think it looks like a really fun title that people should look out for, so I thought I should post the trailer and bring it to peoples attention and get some thoughts on it. Anyone played the original or the sequal on the PS2?

I played Klonoa 2 on ps2. It was just as good as any Jak or Ratchet game on the console. Pretty underrated.

Klonoa is the greatest platformer series I've played imo. Can't wait for this one, rerelease or not :D

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

It's the same style as the one on the PS2, never played the PS1 one, it's just the way it's made. It may do better on the Wii, as older gamer are more used to this style of game (straightforward, short, arcady, reflexe based, difficult) than the one who started gaming in the PS1 era and are used to J&K and R&C type of game (open world, item gathering, no dead penalty, long, easy). Time will tell.

Looks like a solid effort, though the style/perspective is dated.

That maybe because they were trying to recreat the originals, being a remake. (Not played the original so I'm guessing, but that style is fromt he PS1/N64 Era).

How dare you insult Klonoa!  I shall crush you to dust!

Seriously though, not only is Klonoa 2 vastly underappreciated, but the GBA games are also excellent and highly worthwhile for platformer fans.  Check 'em out.

I will almost certainly buy this game.

Hates Nomura.
