Don't ignore Wii or just leave it out because it "ain't" a hardcore console, a "different market" or not a "real" console. I think all consoles have more in common then not, but HD is not one of those and the goals behind the consoles is a bit different.

HD (war) is what Microsoft and Sony set off to do and there is many wars to fight and discuss. Wii ain't in them all.

Rules change.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. They all did change the rules. They all are in the main battle, they all has there hardcore following and so on.

It matters alot to both gamers and Sony/Microsoft who wins the second place. Same about studios and publishers. Let it matter to them. Besides, second place matters more this generation then the privius one as Sony and Microsoft ain't battling over scraps of the market!

Well I really hope someone throws in the towel next gen (won't happen though, so I'm not fooling myself with petty thoughts). One can only dream of such concepts (like world peace & eliminating poverty).

I for one wouldn't want to play COD with motion controls. I prefer shooters to stick to the old concept. Besides, I love my Wii, but it makes my arms tired after awhile. I gotta give my thumbs some excercise too!

Not to rag on ya, but technically console style shooters arent the "old concept", KB & mouse is, which respond much like motion controls, as far as speed and accuracy go =) I bet I'd pwn you on COD if I was using KB & mouse vs you on a controller. Headshots for the win ;)

Have you even played a shooter on the Wii before? I don't think so, because if you have your arms wouldn't be tired. Almost all the action is done with small wrist movements, much like using a mouse. If anything, I find that my arms are more relaxed since I can put them at my side rather than having to hold the controller in front of me.

Actually, I am an old school gamer, and I started playing FPS on the PC when most of the kiddos in this forum weren't even a twinkle in their momma's eye.  ;)

And I would still take a controller any day over the keyboard.  I used to be in the other camp, but I've just gotten faster with analog sticks.

You are actually mistaken.  Last gen the hardcore had gamecubes and PS2.  The PS2 was the casual and hard core console.

I am a core gamer, buddy. I plan to buy a 360, but if I had to subsist on my Wii I could do it indefinitely. Too many games to play as is.

I sometimes wonder why certain console owners are always arguing over their console instead of actually out playing it. Funny that.
