Mike, no one is bashing EA for making a kart racer. We are bashing EA for making a Mario Kart clone. They could have come up with an original kart racer that offered different gameplay. However this game even uses Items similar to Mario Kart, they just changed the names.

EA is not taking the safe route on the HD consoles. Mirror's Edge, Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, a RTS game developed for a gamepad, Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, another RTS game developed for a gamepad, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, another RTS game developed for a gamepad, Dead Spce, and The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. All of these games are expensive to develop and no Wii game, developed by EA, even comes close to matching the development resources or the polish of those games.

EA is looking to spend as little money on the develpment of Wii games as possible to make the most on their return.

 

Crash Team Racing was both a Mario Kart clone and a fantastic game. (Haven't read the whole thread. Sorry if its been said already)

That being said... the game doesn't look very good. It should be noted, however, that I dislike Nascar very much.

Okay, I am getting a little sick of the EA sub-par Wii games. But if they announce NHL 09 for Wii I'll forgive them.

Here that EA? NHL?? And no kiddified version either. And get Bioware to make a 4 player Baldur's Gate game for Wii while you're at it. Do that and you can put all the knock-off games you want on Wii with my consent.

This is why the HD consoles receive more investment than the Wii. EA just needs to invest in the Wii and look for original titles or treat the Wii as a gaming console like the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Wii gamers like myself would not mind a Command and Conquer game on the Wii in SD nor would we be disappointed with a SD version of Dead Space. But unfortunately, EA is not willing to try. They'd rather clone all of Nintendo's games and make money than put forth any kind of effort.

EA's executives need to be fired. A kid could have come up with the copy what Nintendo is doing strategy.

Lately, with al the All-play BS and this kind of games, EA is the candidate for becoming the next Ubisoft.

Because it sells? And why executives have to be fired? Because there are no hardcore games thats developed on the system made by EA? OK lets see, Skate it bombed, Mirror's Edge isnt what it expected it to be Nerf N-Strike spikes in sales by 75 percent this week and it will continue selling. So what EA have to be developed on the system? Madden, NBA live and FIFA series didnt sell as it used to be unlike in HD consoles. Even before All-play. So why the blame on EA? Boom Blox sells, Mysims sells,  Boogie sells, The Simpsons game sells, Nerf N-Strike sells, even Hasbro Family Night sells with 80,000 units so far and Monopoly with 100,000 in sales so far.

I dont agree with what 3rd parties are doing right now but whining in messageboards and sites DO NOTHING. 3rd parties will make an effort for the Wii when the sales of the hardware was on the roof that they cant ignore it anymore it will happen in 2009. But as of now, constant complain   do nothing. Just go ahead, complain but I think 3rd parties dont listen anyway... It only adds up to hundreds of no good game on the Wii thread.

 ermh... Madden NFL all play and Tiger Woods all play was actually a good game. Unless you dont believe IGN. Though I dont believe reviewers anyway...
