I would say X360 new console hardware failure rates would be below 10% failure rate as a guess. A huge improvement on the 30%+ failure rates of X360 launch consoles, three years ago.

In our store too, but then, to be fair, it's the old pre-falcon models using the 2/3 years product service plan. and the new ones are rarely returned.
Its the same console with no harddrive ofcourse it has the same fail rate...

This. You may get a hardware error, but not due to RROD. It runs way cooler than the older 360s - I had one made in Feb. 06 RROD twice - and the Arcade is much more reliable. I would also say I bought a 3-year plan just in case I am wrong.
To the folks saying 10 percent failure rate - link/source, por favor.
