Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Arcade 360 Failure Rate?

I would say X360 new console hardware failure rates would be below 10% failure rate as a guess. A huge improvement on the 30%+ failure rates of X360 launch consoles, three years ago.

Still the most returned product at our store.

In our store too, but then, to be fair, it's the old pre-falcon models using the 2/3 years product service plan. and the new ones are rarely returned.

Its the same console with no harddrive ofcourse it has the same fail rate...

You my friend is RROD proof. It won't happen to you!

Reason why because you just picked up a unit that has the Falcon or Jasper motherboard. Both motherboards produce less energy meaning less watts and less heat in the system.

You have a 65nm CPU/ 90nm GPU (Falcon) or 65nm CPU and GPU (Jasper) both are high reliability and you won't have to worry about RROD.

This. You may get a hardware error, but not due to RROD. It runs way cooler than the older 360s - I had one made in Feb. 06 RROD twice - and the Arcade is much more reliable. I would also say I bought a 3-year plan just in case I am wrong.

To the folks saying 10 percent failure rate - link/source, por favor.
