So over half a million , I think it means 550 000 in 2 days.

Then , we add numbers of the others days in the week.

Then , we add numbers of the others countries.

So I should be 700 K I think.

And Finally : 477 K.

Why ?

im sure that was an estimate someone not ioi made and i guess they were wrong.

You have to read it carefully.

And

"Microsoft will also be pleased with their performance last week, over half a million Xbox360s"

It is for the full week. So ioi slightly overestimated it. It could be that ioi thought that the 360s success would make it sell higher than usual on Saturday/Sunday, or simply just slight miscalculations.

They were just early estimates, and being within 10% of what you said is then pretty good.

Especially considering how spot on Wii/DS/Ps3 was.

Pretty sure Microsoft were estimating as they wouldn't know exactly how many consoles were sold to final consumers. Same way VGChartz is estimating. But bear in mind Microsoft is more likely to overestimate than underestimate. It is not like its sales to shops which is put in its financial report and therefore has to be accurate.

If you are talking about the story ioi posted, those are initial estimates for the black Friday week.

Since these estimates came in 2 days before the hardware numbers were posted, ioi probably received more information from stores, and decided to adjust his hardware down a tiny bit.

None the less, those are pretty impressive hardware sales for the Xbox 360
