On the contrary. you don't vote for the prime minister, you vote for parliament. a coalition of the Liberals and NDP with written support from the bloc makes up the majority of parliament. That's completely inline with what we all voted for and it's entirely democratic. 

Why would there be another election if there is a body in Parliament that has a majority and can pass legislation? 

If you're opposed for ideological reasons "right good, left bad", then that's ok, we can have that argument.

If you're opposed for political reasons "power grabs, personal motives" cool, that's a much more interesting argument

But trying to paint this as somehow undemocratic is wrong. The Conservatives do not have a majority.  

Mrs. Dion and Taliban Jack: Lets ignore the will of the people and try to grab all the power we can. because we lied and never had any real intention of trying to work with the conservatives, thats why we had started chatting up the people that want to destroy the country we claim to care about the day after the election.

Dion and Ignatieff: i guess that wasnt too bad of a decision...we are really uncomfortable having to make a deal with the bloc and perhaps Harper will try to fix things in his budget so we should wait and see what he says.

Look at this from a more rational perspective ...

The Governor General’s job is to ensure the stability of government. Currently the coalition offers less MPs than the existing Conservative government, led by a party leader who has already resigned and will be replaced in the very near future, with members of the coalition party already showing signs of dissent, and a potential government that has to be propped up by a party with unknown motives which is receiving unknown benefits.

In other words, the Governor General granted prorogation in order to give them an opportunity to table a budget and for the coalition to stabilize. It is quite possible that if the Conservatives lost a confidence vote on Monday she would have had to send Canadians to another election, which (by looking at current polls) could easily have translated into a Conservative majority.

im glad to hear the liberals decided on ignatieff. the possibility of Bob Rae becoming prime minister was worrying.
