Forums - Gaming - What game made you scream for fear?

Halo when you first meet the flood and when you find out that when you kill them sometimes they are not really dead just pretending

Around the Network

I can think of really only three games that really freaked me out: Eternal Darkness, F.E.A.R., and Left 4 Dead.

There are others games that have made me tense, but these are the only three games I can think of off the top of my head that really did something to me.

Eternal Darkness - Aside from the freaky sanity system (which freaked me out a few times too), this was one of the first games I played with surround sound. Playing this game with all the lights off really did it for me. I remember playing this with my old roommate in the room and we were freaked the fuck out. There was a point we actually thought there was someone on the balcony.

F.E.A.R. - This one just had some good atmosphere. I played this one with no lights and noise canceling head phones which just made for a good experience (actually work one of the guys who worked on it too ).

Left 4 Dead - I almost crapped my pants when the zombies broke through the wall in the hospital while waiting for the elevator.

F.E.A.R was fucking scary, I only touch that game for online multiplayer(PC) when I'm bored, and I'm not done with the single player yet. Too fucking scared. I didn't scream out loud, but I did in the inside.

F.E.A.R?
I didin't find that scary...Ofc when you though something scary would happen, and then nothing happend..Well...That wasn't scary.
That girl was scary sometimes...
Oh and yea, stealth enemies at office...

Take my love, take my land..

The moments I have screamed in fear have always been when a message similar to this appears on the screen:

"The data in save file 1 has been corrupted. Retry?"

EDIT: After thinking about this for a while I realised there actually was a game where I seriously got scared, probably because I was so young at the time.  My skin would just crawl when I could hear the dragon breathing in "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons" for the Intellivision.

I want to add.. The Piano from SM64 and a handful of monsters from Doom II. I was a kid at the time, of course.

Pixel Art can be fun.

None......

4 ≈ One

Haze, I was fearful of how bad games can actually be.

No games save for Ocarina of Time and Resident Evil 4.

OoT was so dang scary. I remember when the skeletons appeared on Hyrule Field when it turned night for the first time. That was freaky. And a couple of the bosses (the on in the great deku tree, and shadow gannon, not the final fight).

Re4 because I really, really hate scary games, and the fact that I cannot aim in FPS games, meaning I ran out of ammo all the time (fighting dogs that jump at you, when you have a knife that is retarded isn't that fun).

Edit:

The post below mine made me remember something.

I downloaded the Bioshock demo, and took the elevator up. BAM something hits the elevator, or whatever I am in, and a zombie like thingy jumps at the door, and looks in. CTRL + Alt + Del. Uninstall.

That was dang freaky.
