Forums - Microsoft - The Colonel has jumped ship....

colenelstubbs must be well loved by the PS3 people here for this thread to attract this much attention. A big gain to the 360 crowd.

In the best possible world, he might have kept his PS3 with him and get a new 360. But alas! Finances won't allow him to do so.

So how you enjoying your 360 Colonel?

You cant fault Halo 3 and Gears of War...the console itself though....it doesnt half make some dodgy noises. It clicks, whirs, hums, purrs....cant fault it so far though.Watching a dvd with the missus tonight for the first time, hopefully the noise wont be too distracting

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

If you install a game, the clicks, whirs, and purrs go away.  The hum of the fan will still be there though. Or did you buy an Arcade?

Watching a DVD will still net you the same sounds, as most of them come from the disc drive.

And yes, Halo 3 and Gears are so full of win.

Depending on the size, you can fit 2/3 games on a 20 gig Hard drive.  But there is no reason to install Halo 3, as it already caches data to the HDD, so installing it actually makes it take longer to load.  But I guess it could make it quieter.

A 20 GB only allows for one game to be installed, two if you don't have anything else on it. Go for 60 at least.

When games are installed the only sound coming from the 360 are the two fans on the back of it.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

If the Colonel is happy with his system, then I'm happy for him

Yeah, sounds like a 60g would be better...

And concerning the noise, i watched a film with my girl tonight, and the noise didnt distract us at all after i hid the 360 behind my tv, so its not that bad really...seems the 360 is quite a good machine really
