Forums - Sony - Just beat Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for the PS3...just wow!!!

This game was truly amazing. I beat the game on Normal mode. I don't have trophies for this game because I took the game save from my other PSN ID. So I wasn't able to carrying over any of the trophies. But I did complete the game.

Throughout my experience with the game. The graphics are outstanding. I just can't help but to see Naughty Dog put so much effort in this game and to see it truly first hand is an amazing experience.

The sound is like my favorite part of the game. From the gun shots to the players actually doing the sequences and everything. THe story how it played out was confusing at most. But being on the quest with Nate looking for the treasure that Francis....oops nevermind I won't spoil the story. But let's just say it was a weird twist.lol

The characters are attaching. Nate, Elena and Sully truly had me feel like I was with them throughout the whole experience. The puzzles within the game weren't all that hard. There was some that were difficult but all it took was some backtracking or just trying to figure out the ins and outs of the game. The majority of the time the puzzles fit in without any frustration. The plat forming segments are awesome. There are some hard ones but, kinda trial and error but overall you will like them.

The controls were spot on. The only gripe I must say is the cover system could use some work. I was expecting some more fluid but Uncharted has a somewhat similar cover system like Gears of War and I like it. It's just I wish Nate could sprint a little faster or had a button for him to sprint quicker. Other than that I did die a couple of times. I mean miss jumps or deaths caused by me not knowing or covering right were all part of the experience. I did have some moments where I was like "huh?"

But other than that, my time with the game was truly fun. I did about 2 hours per day on the game or a little lower than that. I spent about a month on the game.lol Just because I have all three current generation consoles. So I tried to equal all play time. My cousin DMeisterJ has been bugging me about the game and he will get it now. I will let him borrow it so you can hear his insight. But I plan to play this game again sometime next year. To get the trophies.

It was a short game kinda. But the plot and the gameplay just pulled me in. I could care less if it was a short game in reviewers minds. I tired my best to extend the gameplay by searching around for the treasures. But I gave up because the trophies wouldn't show up on my PSN ID because I was using a different save.lol

I recommend any PS3 owner or future PS3 owner who hasn't or thinking about getting this game to GET IT!

It's an experience that deserves not to be missed. Hell I would put it as one of the best games of all time. Because Naughty Dog developed something I would have never thought they could do. I always thought they were good at platform. But seeing this game. They have potential on other genres.

Replay Value can be extended if you want the trophies. You should just play through the game on Normal to get a feel for it, then up the difficulty on Expert to get that trophy.

Question: Is Sony or Naughty Dog planning to make a sequel?

Around the Network

yes, great game indeed, and i think they are planning a sequel according to rumors.

Did the plot twist with the monster zombies take you by surprise? It sure did for me.

Yes the sequel is coming, probably fall 2009 ^^ (rumor: the title could be: uncharted: the search for atlantis)

Sounds great. This is one game that makes me wish I had a PS3 to play it (or that is was on PC)

A sequel is all but confirmed for 2009. This is probably the 1st game I played on my PS3 (a long time ago) that blew me away. When I ran into a waterfall and my trousers got all soggy and wet I was like "Holly Sh!t." I still can't believe Naughty Dog got those visuals and physics out of the PS3 at that early stage in it's lifecycle.

I can't say I loved the twist, but you may have guessed that I thought it was one of the best games of the generation

Anyway, in a recent interview with Nolan North, voice of Nate, he said he is working on Uncharted 2, so we will see it next year, I can't wait!
