Not sure it can beat PS2 due to fact of PS2 being more defective and had rebuys.

@ OP - I believe it will, its tracking fairly higher than the PS2 did, so it will require less time than the PS2 did to meet the numbers. It wont require the 8 years it has taken to get to the numbers it has reached. The wii might be able to do it in 6, which would be 2012.

Who really cares? If it sells more than ps2, fine. If it sells less, fine also? 360 and ps3 are getting the games anyway. ;) But I guess if you plan on playing with your current console in 2012 or something, the sales numbers could make a difference!

I think it will and if you notice, like one person above said, Nintendo still has many aces to play. To name a few:

- Colored Wii's
- Colored Wii Remotes
- Price Cut
- Bundles

These are things both MS and SONY have done yet Nintendo has up their sleve. Will it be hard? Ofcourse it will, it will be VERY hard. Will it be done? I certainly think so. Nintenod captured a Market never before touched and has given them the opportunity to just keep expanding said market and selling loads of more Wii's. It's been over 2 years and the System is still hard to find. That's got to tell you something.

I didn't mean what I said. I love the PS2. I was making an idiotic statement to counter another one. Consoles do not "deserve" to sell or not sell. They just sell or they don't. Deserving has no place in the matter of sales. I'm pretty sure you and leo-j are judging the Wii as undeserving because you don't feel their gaming library is up to par with your likes and interests. Well guess what? You are obviously not the Wii's target audience, so it's not a matter of them deserving sales or not, it's a matter of you not liking your own choice console bottom feeding while the Wii enjoys monumentous success. There is somebody else in the world with the Wii, enjoying the hell out of it, and that person matters more to Nintendo then your niche audience ever will.

If you want to lump me in as some Wii-loving freakazoid, let me make things clear. I own a Wii and I haven't played it in over 5 months. My console of choice is the 360. I can still seperate my personal opinion to look at the Wii objectively and understand why it sells, and congratulate it for doing so, even if it may not be for me at the moment.
