I can't really comment on Gears 2 since I only played about a few hours with it, but Resistance 2 is a great game. Love everything about it except maybe ranked multiplayer. Too uneven.

i've played both games and i think gears 2 is alot better game, i liked the 1st resistance overall better than the 2nd. i am hoping killzone 2 is better than resistance 2, if it is i'll be happy i want another good fps for my ps3.

To me, they both look nice. Sadly I didn't get my hands on either one of them so far, but both look nice. Not that I'm particularly interested in any non-valve shooter at the moment. Although I'm sligthly leaning towards Gears.

 Believe it or not, Gears 2's is even crappier, so by a small margin R2's story > Gears 2's story.

Bugged as in in game mechanics? or are you talking about the matchmaking slowdown caused by the hundreds of thousands of gamers trying to find games at any point of the day (which btw has been fixed a while back)

Resistance 2 has the better Online/Multiplayer, Gears 2 has the better graphics. i personally liked resitance 2 more mostly cause i found gears 1 to be more fun than gears 2 mainly because they downgraded the shotgun, and the sticking grendes to the walls results in ppl camping in buildings like cod4 which is no fun and pussy. but thats my opinion

besides this, these games are bascially even

I don't know if it matters, but I prefer cosoles for third person shooters. The change in pespective would make mouse-based movement speed incredibly unnatural.

I say about 90 percent of you have not even played both games. I own both so I felt obligated to say that. Both are amazing games. Gears, without a doubt, has more bugs than resistance. At some points the bugs were actually bad enough to interfere with gameplay. How its higher on metacritic than mgs4 is beyond me. Just another thing to discredit metacrotoc and the review system in general. At some points in the game I found myself laughing at reviewers that gave this game a perfect score. That being said, I still enjoyed it's campaign 2* as much as r2. Like many pointed out, online is where r2 shines. Gears he sp and coop on lock.

I haven't played RFOM 2 yet because it isn't out in PAL (Retarded decision btw) but really the reasons he gave for the multi-player sounded retarded. It sounded like he read the bullet points on the back of the game boxes and made his mind up from that.
