Forums - Sony - See Sony's motion controller in action...

Are you sure this is Sony's? Sony wasn't mentioned whatsoever.

Around the Network

well, since motion controls were not originally built in the HD consoles, this means that the consoles were not made in order to use motion-controls, so any effort for motion-controls by Sony/Ms would never reach Wii controls, so that's why they don't bother with it, and they focus on releasing great games!
(so..i don't think Sony has anything to do about it)

where Nintendo, now that Wii Fit/Mario Kart/SSBB play the role of GTA3: San Andreas in Ps2, has nothing to worry about, and focus on 3rd party games and online, or Wii-Motion Plus

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

u acting like MS and Nintendo never stole any ideas either. Mario, YES MARIO was originally owned by Rare. the guy with the red hat in the original donkey kong game was mario, he was just called jump man and they changed it to mario, and we all know rare was never owned by nintendo. as for MS the dashboard was just their way of stealing sony's XMB used in the PSX and PSP, lets not forget their wii like avatars

all games are influenced by sucessful games and as long as they bring something new to the table there is nothing wrong with taking ideas with no copyrights.

I didn't read all the posts in this thread so sorry if somebody already said this. This will not work for Sony. This is obviously trying to attract casuals but the reason y it wont work is because y would a casual gamer get a PS3 + this + a game when u can get a much cheaper wii. Not to mention that Wii has pretty much hit status quo and is all over the media so I doubt somebody would get this just because it says Sony on it. Also, this won't work because it did not launch with the PS3 so not everybody will have a "ps3 mote" unless they bundle the game with the controller.

Mario was created by Shigeru Miyamoto back in the 80s for Nintendo. He was first called jump man but the name was changed by a US company. If you remember Donkey Kong was in the arcades along with Pacman and Frogger and also made their debuts on Atari systems.

Rare did not create Mario. The did developed Dokey Kong Country games as well as Killer Instincts, Perfect Dark among others.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

What are you talking about?  Rare was founded in in 1982 and Donkey Kong w/ Jumpman was released in 1981.  Another game actually titled Jumpman was released in 1983 by Epyx which is a ripoff of Donkey Kong and there were some other clones as well.

Donkey Kong w/ Jumpman was developed and published by Nintendo and created by Myamoto.

I know that wasn't on topic, but it needed straightened out.

Sure they do, but if Sony thinks that's enough for PS3 to prints money like Wii do - they are idiots. Personally, I don't care... sure they want their slice of the pie of casual market... but IF this's true and will be released (I still doubt it though) - I can't imagine a situation where Sony possibly could be more unoriginal and uninspired. Lack of own ideas? Nobody copyrighted idea of motion-sensing, it's free to use, it's already in use for many years, bring it into gaming, surprise, make something original... and Sony brought this... what a shame.

Oh and MS's Avatars are so Original? and the Wii's BC is original? Please...

Nope, but the Atari 5200's was!

Aw.  Beat me to it.
