Mario, YES MARIO was originally owned by Rare. the guy with the red hat in the original donkey kong game was mario, he was just called jump man and they changed it to mario, and we all know rare was never owned by nintendo. as for MS the dashboard was just their way of stealing sony's XMB used in the PSX and PSP, lets not forget their wii like avatars all games are influenced by sucessful games and as long as they bring something new to the table there is nothing wrong with taking ideas with no copyrights. |
Mario was created by Shigeru Miyamoto back in the 80s for Nintendo. He was first called jump man but the name was changed by a US company. If you remember Donkey Kong was in the arcades along with Pacman and Frogger and also made their debuts on Atari systems.
Rare did not create Mario. The did developed Dokey Kong Country games as well as Killer Instincts, Perfect Dark among others.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
