Forums - Sony - See Sony's motion controller in action...

Does the controller have a pointer device? If it does, then it'd be an almost EXACT replication of the Wii Motion Plus Remote.

I do believe Malstrom predicted this, too! XD

I'd like to take this opportunity to LAUGH at every snobcore gamer who ever said, "motion controls are a gimmick"

It's obvious now that Wii is a glimpse of the future.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

Ok so if its released, why isnt it in stores? The news still reeks of BS. There's no trace of this on the actual industry side, no buzz at all. Without buzz or dev talk, there will be no games to support it.

Unless this is confirmed by sony, its 100% bull $hit for me.

Well, if you guys listen to the video he never mentions it as being developed by Sony or for Sony. He only mentions the Sixaxis and Wii Mote and that this version is like those but on steroids.

@ leo j, agreed. Although I don't think this kind of motion crap can replace controllers, from the business end of things it makes sense. And don't fool yourselves, if Ninty was getting beat down they wouldn't think twice about "commandeering" some things from rivals. The're trying to absorb what makes the Wii special, and motion control is basically most of it. (And for the record I'm not a big fan of motion controls, call me a non-visionary.)

Not that I believe some guy's blog. Did anyone actually read the story where it says:

While it appears that Sony has decided against using this technology, we wanted everyone to see what could have been…

if it's true that this is going to be released, people saying: "Wii is not competing with Ps3/Xbox360" must feel very stupid LoL

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

that wii motion plus thing ooks awesome. i really hope wii sports rwsort sells amazingly. that way we get more motion plus games.

also it still wont beat the wii most as it doesnt have IR. thats the best part about the wiimote for me

As I have been following various articles about motion controller, I was about to cry when I saw this post. But after jumping to the EngineerTV link, it is indeed 3rd party controller and toward the end the designer said "currently for PC, and discussing with console manufactures", but no name of console mentioned. So this is just another 3rd party motion controller just like Darwin Motion Controller, or Freedom Motion Controller. All of them claims to have better tracking than Wiimote.

As someone else have already mentioned, this is no surprise because Wiimote is 2 year old technology. Anything coming from now on should be better than that technologically.

I used to own Wii, but because of its inaccuracy and latency I had to sell the system. But I really loved the idea of motion control. Being able to play Boxing Game just like a real boxing, or playing baseball like real baseball seem just fascinating.

To be honest, Wiimotion Plus, Darwin, Freedom, or Sixense, I believe will all provide close to 1:1 response. So question is which one will have the best games for it?

Most likely will be Wiimotion Plus as the periphery maker is also a game soft maker, but motion control in 360 or PS3 have potential because of its High Definition capability.

The one thing that I foresee in the future or would like to see is that as this is multiplatform generation,

- 3rd Party software developers to port Wii game to 360 or PS3.

Key here is that  those motion controller companies to make their APIs compatible with WiiMotion Plus, or perhaps 3rd company can make an engine for it.  So software company makes a game, and easily port out to other motion sensor. This might be the way to have the most number of game support at the beginning for those non-Wii Motion Plus controllers.

In the end, all I ask is I want to play realistic Motion games now!! Don't care which system it is, but they all have the release date in 2009..
