looks like the ps3 is going down this christmas! only plus i can get out of these numbers are that it's selling pretty well for it's price.

Impressive 360 sales once again.

Sony fans need to calm down. (and 360 fans as well)

I do not see the increasing 360 lead over the PS3 as that big of a deal in the long term. Third parties will need sales on both consoles to make back the huge HD development cost. Publishers are not going to suddenly dump development for a console with 22% market share to develop solely for the console with 29% market share.

In North America, I guess it´s already pretty safe to say the PS3 will never catch the 360.

Worldwide..who knows...but if it does, it won´t be before 2010, I imagine.

More revenue, yes, but that's just because it sells for a higher price. More profits, no.

I said "revenue" for a very specific reason ( and it's not exactly clear how much profit MS is making of their cut price 360's so you can't really talk about profits of hardware) . You have to have a more desirable product to generate more revenue with less units sold , it's as simple as that.

It's only that way if you assume every single 360 sold was the arcade only, which is far from the truth.

The Xbox360 is really doing its job. Well almost 500k units / week is really great. (I know the wii is doing this all the time ^^) But for a HD-console it is really good.

PS3 just can't compete with the Xbox360 at this time. Sony needs to do something right now. But a price-cut would affect their revenue really bad.

Will the next week track black friday?

Japan will be a draw more or less. Well 4k in favour for the PS3 doesn't really matter when you lose the other regions by 100k each.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
